My Memorial

Talking to my sister, and the topic wandered into those improv memorials when people are killed. For some reason, it’s always mylar balloons and teddy bears.

I told that if I should die, I don’t want balloons and teddy bears.

I want my killer’s head on a stake.

Unless I’m killed by a bear. Then you can impale a teddy bear.

Another One For the “Why Are Gun Controllers So Violent” File

Yep. That’ll convince them no one needs the means for self defense.

Wisconsin man allegedly threatens to shoot lawmakers who vote to arm teachers
In an email sent to radio host Jeff Wagner, Stearns allegedly said if Wisconsin lawmakers ever voted to arm public school teachers he would “purchase a gun, the most powerful I can purchase, and go to Madison and shoot as many of the people who vote for this law as I can before someone shoots me.”

The email added: “Arming the teachers and administrators would be the worst possible thing our country/state would ever see, and I am more than willing to go down in a blaze of glory.”

In another email sent to a specific Wisconsin legislator, Stearns allegedly wrote: “If you pass legislation to arm teachers, administrators, and other staff people in the Wisconsin public schools, you’ll be a dead man in 60 days of passing that legislation.”

The sender ominously warned: “People will hunt you down and your family like animals.”

I Can Hardly Wait For The Next USAToday AR Attachment

The Dusterbuster Bayonet, courtesy of super-genius Whoopi Goldberg.

Whoopi Goldberg suggests banning AR-15s, arresting owners: ‘Report them and we’ll put them in jail’
She said that people who don’t understand the need to ban AR-15s, “one gun,” she emphasized, will “never see the need to make sure that people get the [mental] help.”

Speaking of getting mental help, Goldie…

Setmayer said that people could still use handguns, like at the Virginia Tech shooting.

“A handgun does not turn people to dust,” Goldberg responded.

I want some of that ammo.

Guest host Tara Setmayer said that it would not be easy to ban guns in a country that has “more guns than people.”

“It actually is easy,” Goldberg said.

I’m sure Goldberg will volunteer to lead the first few stacks of the door-to-door confiscation squads to demonstrate to dubious cops just how “easy” it is.

Missing The Target

Calling for new laws on gun owners is like a cancer researcher ignoring smoking or asbestos correlations to call for a ban on parakeet ownership.
— Moi, 2018

I was looking up something else I wrote some years back. But that turned up, and it’s as true today as four years ago.

Of course, whether they’re missing the target presupposes that their actual intent to to stop murderers, rather than honest citizens.

TZP Column: Jackson-Lee and Automatic Weapons

JACKSON-LEE HAS A LITTLE CORRELATION ISSUE
Texas Congresscritter Sheila Jackson-Lee is generally good for entertaining stupidity, and this is no exception.

Jackson Lee: There Was ‘Seismic Increase of Carnage Across America Using Automatic Weapons’ after Assault Weapons Ban Expired
Jackson Lee said, “I have committed, over the years, having introduced bills dealing with the ban on assault weapons post-2004, as you well know, Ayman, that’s when it ended. And we saw the seismic increase of carnage across America using automatic weapons. And in the instance of Buffalo and the instance of Uvalde, having gone there on Sunday, meeting with and just listening to the sheer desperation of families and children. That was an AR-15 as well.”

I’m sure even the most casual TZP reader caught the main problem, but let me take this a point at a time.

I’ll start with that skyrocketing use of “automatic weapons, known legally as machineguns. Happily for us, TZP tracks machinegun use, so the data I want is readily available.
