That Reminds Me

Ah, Twitter…

Twitter to add warning label to tweets it deems ‘viral misinformation’
Twitter announces censorship tools for combatting ‘viral misinformation’

The feature would allow Twitter representatives to censor or handicap posts they determine to be misleading or false. The company claimed that the suppression tools will only be used in the case of a “humanitarian crisis.”

Aside from the BS “humanitarian crisis” bit, I don’t see what’s new about this. But it did remind me.

Last month, on noting I’m still “suspened” by Twitter (since September 2020), I decided to “appeal” my suspension. Again. After all, a judge and jury ruled that I was correct.

Not that I have any intention of using Twitter; but I would like to log in and delete the account.

So it’s been three weeks. I’m still suspended. They haven’t even bothered to “rule” on my appeal.

Hmm. Maybe Elon Musk should widen his Twitter data search a little, from just how many Twiiter accounts are bots, to how many “real” accounts are even allowed to use Twitter?

How many accounts are pople like me, who haven’t been allowed to tweet in most of two years?

Soyocrats

It seems someone did a study of male testosterone levels and political affiliation.

The lower their testosterone level, the more hardcore Dimocrat they were.

The Dims with somewhat higher (19% higher) levels than other Dims were salvageable with testosterone therapy.

We tested the fixity of political preferences of 136 healthy males during the 2011 U.S. presidential election season by administering synthetic testosterone or placebo to participants who had identified the strength of their political affiliation. Before the testosterone treatment, we found that weakly affiliated Democrats had 19% higher basal testosterone than those who identified strongly with the party (p=0.015). When weakly affiliated Democrats received additional testosterone, the strength of their party fell by 12% (p=.01) and they reported 45% warmer feelings towards Republican candidates for president (p < 0.001). Our results demonstrate that testosterone induces a “red shift” among weakly-affiliated Democrats. This effect was associated with improved mood. No effects were found of testosterone administration for strongly affiliated Democrats or strong or weak Republicans. Our findings provide evidence that neuroactive hormones affect political preferences.

I can’t see the whole paper, so I can’t evaluate their methodology… but it sounds intuitive, and I have runs across other studies showing DIms with lower testosterone levels. This is the first I saw that tried giving them a boost, though.

The Ammo Crisis Is Solved With This One Simple Trick*

Having trouble finding fodder for your AR-pattern rifle, without going bankrupt?

No problem. Apparently there’s a simple rifle modification that…

Well, let NCPR’s Karen DeWitt tell you.

Hochul to propose closing loopholes in New York’s gun laws
The gun used by the suspect, an automatic rifle known as an AR-15, is sold legally in New York. But the gun was modified with a high-capacity magazine that allows 30 shots per round.

Yes! 30 shots per round. A feat that previously required a shop and a pile of components. But now a simple mod allows you to do it on the fly; no shop, bullets, powder, or primers needed.

Have fun reading that column. 30 shots/round was just one issue (that “automatic rifle known as an AR-15” is a clue). I wrote to her to recommend adding me to her rolodex so I can advise her on how firearms and law actually work.

* Yes, that’s deliberately click-baity. I’ve always wanted a chance to say that, just to ridicule the usual suspects.

I’m Sure It Just *IDENTIFIED* As A Semi-Auto

WaPo says the Buffalo chumbucket brought along a Savage Axis XP semiautomatic rifle.

He also recounted how he acquired two backup weapons: a Mossberg 500 shotgun that he purchased in early December and a Savage Axis XP semiautomatic rifle that he received from his father as a Christmas present when he was 16 years old

Eh, Not so much.

It must be the “Detachable box magazine” that turned the bolt-gun into a semi-auto.

Let’s Get The Buffalo Shooter On Record

You know, the “right-wing,” “white supremacist” motivated by his love for Fox News and Tucker Carlson.

From his “manifesto.”

“I would prefer to call myself a populist. But you can call me an ethno-nationalist eco-fascist national socialist if you want, I wouldn’t disagree with you.” He also repeatedly attacks capitalists, and rejected the conservative label because, he wrote, “conservativism is corporatism in disguise, I want no part of it.”

An eco-fascist national socialist?

Doesn’t sound very right-wing.

Reportedly, he also attacked Fox News for hiring Jews.

All in all, he seems to have more in common with Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar, than with anyone I’d consider on the “right.”

Uncertified Voting Machines? No Shit.

While The Gateway Pundit is sorta presenting as news, even there it isn’t. They just went more in depth.

EXCLUSIVE: Based on a Thorough Review of Election Regulations, Not a Single Voting System Testing Lab Used in the 2020 Election Was Accredited Based on the Law (Part I)
Per a thorough review of election regulations, not a single election voting machine in the 2020 Election was certified by an accredited voting machine company according to US law.

The issue of whether US voting machines and voting machine auditors were properly accredited leading up to and after the 2020 Election has been previously addressed by The Gateway Pundit. We first addressed this issue when the Maricopa County leadership only wanted a ‘certified auditor’ to perform an audit of their operations after the 2020 Election in Arizona. The County selected two firms and TGP pointed out that the two firms selected were not properly certified at the time they were claimed to be by Maricopa officials. Only hours after our report, the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) suspiciously certified the two firms we identified.

Yep. I pointed out this problem in Georgia all the way back in January… 2021, when GA Secretary of Scum Raffensperger lied about it.

I like this bit TGP dug up.

The EAC includes in the 2021 accreditation documents wording as follows “Accreditation remains effective until revoked by a vote of the EAC pursuant to 52 U.S.C 20917(c)(2).” This is added apparently to claim that these labs that were out of compliance never lost their accreditation but this is not the case.

That’s complete bullshit. 1) If accredition is eternal, unless specifically revoked (wish driver licenses worked that way), why did EAC renew accreditation in 1/27/2021?

2. If accreditation is eternal, unless specifically revoked, why did the EAC in that very accreditation letter say: “A grant of accreditation is valid for a period not to exceed two years. A VSTL’s accreditation expires on the date annotated on the Certificate of Accreditation”?

I’d have a little more confidence in the elections systems if they followed their own fucking rules, and didn’t lie about it.

But they did try to cover their asses on the previous expiration.

Due to the outstanding circumstances posed by COVID-19, the renewal process for EAC laboratories has been delayed for an extended period. While this process continues, Pro V&V retains its EAC VSTL accreditation.

Nope. The previous accreditation expired in 2017 If you can count above two (that seems to exclude most fed bureaucrats and politicians), then you might notice that accreditation expired better than two years before ChinCOVID was a thing. And since the paerwork for renewal should have started before expiration, it’s closer to three years that they blew off keeping their accreditation current.

Why should I vote this fall? The same bad actors are still in place.

You Know, If They Did This Right…

Make ’em pay out of pocket, no congressional expense accounts, and Pelosi alone might fund the government.

How Racist! Pelosi Opens Liquor Store In Congress But You Must Show an ID to Get Served!
House members received notification from the House Chief Administrative Officer announcing two new perks offered this week compliments of the chamber’s Democrat leadership: fully paid gym memberships and “House Drinks storefront” a brand new liquor and drinks outlet in the Rayburn House Office Building.

Free gym and Pelaton memberships, a convenient liquor store right at work… No wonder the DC scumbags think the economy is fine. They never see it.

And lawmakers must show an ID to get served — unlike voting in Democrat states.

RACISTS!!!

Lying Sacks Of Shit Will Lie

Psaki, this time (I’m glad she’s on her way out, headed to a network I don’t watch).

WATCH: White House says it’s ‘morally right’ that pallets of scarce baby formula are being sent to the border
“There’s something called the Flores settlement, which you may or may not be aware of that’s been in place since 1997. It requires adequate food and elsewhere, specifies age appropriateness. Hence formula for kids under the age of one,” Psaki told reporters on Friday.

“CBP is following the law, that law that has been in place, and been followed, by the way, by the past — every administration since 1997,” she said.

“So this has been a law in the United States for a quarter century.

No.

The Flores settlement is not, and never has been “law.” This was never codified in statutory law. It isn’t even a judicial ruling.

It is a consent decree: an out of court settlement between the parties of the lawsuit to avoid further court maneuvering and a judicial ruling. At most, the judge looked at it and said, Well, if both of you will settle for this, let’s stop wasting time and money on the trial.

Not. Law.

There isn’t even “international law” to support this, if you pretend these illegals are “refugees.” The Convention relating to the Status of Refugees makes that pretty clear.

Article 7, 1: Except where this Convention contains more favourable provisions, a Contracting State shall accord to refugees the same treatment as is accorded to aliens generally.

Nothing special; the same treatment.

Article 20: Where a rationing system exists, which applies to the population at large and regulates the general distribution of products in short supply, refugees shall be accorded the same treatment as nationals.

The same treatment. If formula is in short supply, they get the same chance at it as lawful citizens and residents. They don’t get pallets of baby food delivered to their current residence, free of charge, while citizens are driving across cities trying to find a few cartons to purchase at inflated prices.
