And What Will Happen

Since I’m on the subject of America’s in-progress collapse, here’s a pertinent quote I just heard.

They gotta stop, or everybody’s gonna start identifying as Korean.

I think she’s an optimist. The Roof Koreans were in a strictly defensive posture, protecting families, homes, and businesses. I fear something much worse.

A comment on yesterday’s blog post regarding the effed up FBI asked a pertinent question about how we generally got to this effed up point.

As it happens, I’ve addressed just that before. I guess a little review is in order.

We mainstreamed stupidity and psychosis.

I am extremely doubtful that this can be reversed short of a complete collapse.

I just hope that enough moderately intelligent and sane people survive to rebuild, and prevent this ever happening again.

But I also have doubts about that latter goal.

[Update] FBI Screws UP Yet AGAIN

Y’all remember that retired Green Beret that posted video and audio recordings of the FBI trying to recruit him as a Confidential Informant, to spy on the Oathkeepers?

The FBI raided his house and arrested him Thursday morning at 3:45 AM. I don’t know just how many people were there, but the feds alone reportedly had 20 vehicles. Pinellas County was also on hand for the festivities. All for what seems to be a single misdemeanor trespassing charge. Brown reportedly never entered the Capitol building but may have been outside on Capitol grounds.

TGP’s Jim Hoft thinks this was retaliatory.

Jeremy Brown refused to be an informant for the dirty FBI — So they stormed his home at 3:45 AM and arrested him on bogus charges.

I’m not so sure about that. If there is anyone at the FBI or District Attorney’s office with enough brain cells to maintain breathing reflex, Brown is the last guy they want talking in court. His attorneys would start by introducing as evidence Brown’s video and audio recordings of the FBI encounters, along with all his writings and interviews on the subject. Then…

Your honor, a crime — in this alleged case, misdemeanor trespass — requires criminal intent: mens rea. The defendant was obviously — as evidenced by all these hours of recordings, and FBI agents’ own recorded statements, aware that he was under active FBI surveillance.

Knowing that he in particular was being actively watched, Mr. Brown was hardly going to knowingly commit a criminal act. Mr. Brown never entered the Capitol, and believed that his nonviolent, otherwise noncriminal presence outside the building was lawful. There was no criminal intent.

At that point, we get to watch the judge try to weasel around mens rea, and unconstitutionally keep Brown in jail.

All this arrest did was ensure that a lot more people who had never heard of Jeremy Brown, or the FBI’s attempt to recruit him, will learn about it. And disapprove. And this will just highlight the FBI’s and Capitol Police infiltrators in the riot proper.

I’m wondering at what level — high or low — some frickin’ moron thought charging and arresting Brown was a good idea.

Whatsit Raises A Maybe Not So Obvious Question

Someone posted a video online of a mysterious something-or-other spotted at a Lockheed facility.

Most speculation seems to be, “What is it?” New drone, just a radar cross-section test mockup? The geometry is hard to make out, but it looks like it could vaguely resemble some pictures of hypersonic test beds. I’m not an aeronautical engineer, so I’ve really got no idea.

But the real question for me is: If that is secret, or proprietary, why is it being trucked out in the open in place where cameras are seemingly allowed? Not so much as a tarp?

Maybe it is classified or proprietary, and someone is about to be fired for screwing up.

Or maybe it was meant to be seen, as a distraction or disinformation.

Someone got this picture of President Creepy at the Congressional baseball game.

There is zero context here. I don’t know what was actually going on, who she is… nada.

But the image is creepy. It looks like he has her pinned to the fence. She has her fists raised. In fear? As a joke? Is this a friend, and it’s normal for them? Dunno.

But based on the single still shot, I would consider a man leaning in that way, fencing her in with his arms, on any woman other than a wife or girlfriend to be absolutely improper.

If someone knows more about the context of this apparent incident, please share.

And something else about that CBS report…

I just called bullshit on a CBS report about a Billings hospital’s ICU unit being at 150% of capacity. (TL;DR: it isn’t out of ICU beds or ventilators.) But another item in the story grabbed my attention as well.

Frank Miller, 59, was hospitalized with COVID-19 more than two weeks ago. The unvaccinated engineer spent more than a week on a ventilator.

“I struggled with it, being on a ventilator,” he said, adding he was “scared out of my mind.”

Why was he conscious to be afraid of it? Why did he struggle with ventilation?

According to a former ICU nurse, people put on ventilators are usually sedated and given a paralytic so 1) they are not conscious and 2) cannot struggle and fight the ventilator. Gnerally, the ones who don’t need sedation and the paralytic are the ones dying anyway; they’re just waiting on brain death. Most often, they are being kept “alive” (for some values of the word) by families who can’t give up hope, or the body is being kept alive for potential organ harvesting.

There’s something very, very wrong about a man conscious and fighting the vent. Almost… as if he didn’t need ventilation. Almost… as if the hospital ventilated him because they get a bonus from CMS.

Almost… as if it were greed, not medical necessity.

More ChinCOVID Panic-Pushing From CBS

Oh my. Montana sure is in trouble. Maybe.

Montana hospital ICU reaches 150% capacity amid surge of COVID-19 cases
In Billings, Montana, emergency room doctor Jamiee Belsky can barely keep up with the surge of new COVID-19 patients.

“So we are — we’re getting short on beds,” she said.

Um… 150% of capacity would be more beds in use than they have, not “getting short on beds.”

How short is that Billings clinic? I’m glad you asked. This short: 3 beds open, as of 9/27. 37 ICU patients, half of which are not COVID. Statewide, 20% of ICU beds are available

Ventilators? 43 ventilated, only 9 of which are COVID patients. Statewide, 77% of ventilators are available.

Now, about the case surge. Yes, there was one. It peaked 3 weeks ago. That peak was 163 daily cases lower than the November 2020 peak. And somehow the state, allegedly being overwhelmed by the lower peak it’s passed, survived the earlier, greater surge.

Go peddle your BS elsewhere, Meg Oliver. I don’t need your ignorant fear-mongering in my news feeds.

How would I feel?

I’d feel perplexed. 40 guns and only 10,000 rounds? That’s just an average of 250 rounds per gun. WTF?

Well, maybe his supply is down due the ammo supply chain mess.

ChinCOVID. Again.

I now personally know four people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Ever. In the entire country.

One of those people had COVID-19 more than a year ago. Confirmed by testing, and nasty symptoms, though hospitalization was not required; Think really bad cold.*

That person was recently diagnosed with COVID again.

That person (yeah, I’m trying anonymize this) was at an Emergency Room dealing with a medical emergency concerning the person’s father. What with serious stress (I thought he might die) and the hospital’s masking policy, that person ate nothing for 36 hours, and hadn’t drunk so much as water for 24 hours.

That person experienced a headache and nausea (duh), and puked.

Hospital staff diagnosed that as COVID-19 based on headache, nausea, and NEGATIVE COVID testing. Despite testing positive for antibodies.

After rehydrating that person (oral and IV fluids), that person was fine, but still gets called another COVID case.

* For extra fun, no one else in that person’s household got COVID.
