About the COVID-19 PCR Test

A few days ago, I noted some ambiguous language in the CDC’s notice that the Emergency Use Authorization for the ChinCOVID PCR test was going to be withdrawn. It could be interpreted as meaning that the test was nonspecific for SARS-CoV-2 and influenza.

However, it could be something as simple as wanting to replace a one-condition test with a new two-condition test for either or ChinCOVID and flu. That turns out to be the case.

According to Kaiser Health the reason for the change in PCR testing to “differentiate” between ChinCOVID and influenza is not because the test went positive for either.

“The CDC is pulling their test ‘off the market’ as a gesture to encourage labs to use tests that include reagents (primers and probes) for both SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza so providers, labs, states, and CDC will have better data this fall and winter to estimate how much of clinical influenza-like illness is due to SARS-CoV-2 and how much is due to seasonal influenza,” Polage said in an email.

Basically, my first guess was correct. In the past flu season, so few flu tests were ordered that they really have no idea how many flu cases there were. Since symptoms overlap so much, it was more lucrative for hospitals to just call everything COVID-19, and get the CMS bonus. Nationally, flu testing was almost nonexistent. In a rare flash of competence, someone at the CDC decided to encourage combination tests so someone could still track next flu season.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky Says We Just Need Two Weeks to Stop the Delta Variant SARS-CoV-3*
Perhaps CDC Director Rochelle Walensky has no sense of irony. We recently passed the 500th day to slow the spread, which, as we all know, started with 15 days to slow the spread in March of 2020. Now, Walensky is saying that if we all put on a face diaper and get the jab, we can defeat the Delta Variant SARS-CoV-3* in a few weeks:

Chipman isn’t fit for a government job as a toilet scrubber, let alone a position requiring a presidential nomination and Senate approval.
Joe Huffman

Chipman should definitely be a toilet scrubber.

I hate it when I realize I’ve clicked on an Associated Press “report.”

Like this one:

Florida records highest-ever new COVID-19 case total in a single day, CDC data shows
Florida has reported its highest-ever daily total for new COVID-19 cases, according to CDC data.

The data, which the Florida health department says it sends to the CDC, says the state recorded 21,683 new cases on July 30, the most since the start of the pandemic. Previously, the highest single-day number the state reported was 19,816 on Jan. 6.

I’m screencapping that for posterity.

In fact, if you check the very link to CDC data in that story, you find rather different information.

Yes, the CDC claims 21, 683 cases on July 30. But January 6th shows… 17,262, not 19,816. And 1/6/21 wasn’t the peak date; that was January 2, 2021 with a whopping 30,531.

So Florida’s AP-alleged record-breaker actually missed the record by 8,848 cases. According the story’s own linked data.

I recall too many decades ago, as a kid, thinking that AP was a decent source of news. I’m not exactly sure just when I realized they were somewhat less than accurate. But in the early ’80s I had a direct AP teleytpe feed — yep, “news right off the wire” — and I had a lot of “Huh?” and “Wait; what?” moments while reading that yellow paper. In the early ’90s, I again had a direct feed, and we posted AP stories on the bulletin board for laughs, because they were so obviously wrong so often.

Finally, I reached the point where AP was a specifically distrusted source. Its “news” was — like this one — lies, utter bullshit.

First Coast News should reconsider paying AP for shit that simply emabasses them.

Added: I see CBS is making the same BS claim, with the same link to CDC data saying thy’re wrong. Way to go, Tori.

Added 2: As I continue checking the news this morning, I’m seeing this same fake Florida claim all across the leftstream media. And in many of the stories the language is so similar that it’s almost as if they paraphrased or plagiarized some one original, misinformed source.

Or are following a prepared propaganda script.

Let’s get some CDC BS out of the way.

CDC’s Own Data Shows 15% of In-Hospital CV Deaths in May Were Among Vaccinated Patients, Not ‘Under 1%’ As Officials Claimed

That the CDC lies comes as zero surprise to those of us who’ve been watching them on “gun violence” for past few decades.

CDC FINALLY releases data behind mask guidance U-turn: Study claims vaccinated people infected with ‘Delta’ variant have same viral levels as the unvaccinated – but only four of 346 sick were hospitalized and NONE died

An IFR of 0.0000000? So much for Deadly Delta.

Y’all have a nice weekend.

Call It What It Is, CDC

It isn’t “almost like a different novel virus”.

The CDC finally got around to admitting on what they based its latest wear a mask flip.

During July 2021, 469 cases of COVID-19 associated with multiple summer events and large public gatherings in a town in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, were identified among Massachusetts residents; vaccination coverage among eligible Massachusetts residents was 69%. Approximately three quarters (346; 74%) of cases occurred in fully vaccinated persons (those who had completed a 2-dose course of mRNA vaccine [Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna] or had received a single dose of Janssen [Johnson & Johnson] vaccine ≥14 days before exposure). Genomic sequencing of specimens from 133 patients identified the B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in 119 (89%) and the Delta AY.3 sublineage in one (1%).

It acts like a novel coronavirus.

None of the three COVID-19 pseudovaccines work on it.

It has spike proteins that differ from that of SARS-CoV-2.

Admit that “delta” is really SARS-CoV-3, and the disease is COVID-20 (“Delta” was first noted in October 2020).

But no; we must stick with the narrative of a continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

Added: I had this waiting in another tab when I wrote the above. I should have read it before posting.

Because it supports my delta is another novel coronavirus theory.

While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stopped comprehensively tracking what are known as vaccine breakthrough cases in May, the consequences of that choice are only now beginning to show.

At the time, the agency had identified only 10,262 cases across the U.S. where a fully vaccinated person had tested positive for Covid. Most people who got infected after vaccination showed few symptoms, and appeared to be at low risk of infecting others.

But in the months since, the number of vaccine breakthrough cases has grown, as has the risk that they present. And while the CDC has stopped tracking such cases, many states have not. Bloomberg gathered data from 35 states and identified 111,748 vaccine breakthrough cases through the end of July, more than 10 times the CDC’s end-of-April tally.

Again, the current pseudovaccines are not effective against this novel virus, and it’s even worse than the CDC thought/admitted. Funny how they decided not to track all “breakthrough” cases, just as they climbed. As if they couldn’t risk the one big COVID-19 pandemic narrative.

“almost like a different novel virus”

So when do viral mutations constitute a fresh novel virus?

Panic Mode: Internal Document Reveals CDC Pushing for More Forceful Messaging
The internal document, which the Washington Post obtained, reportedly shows the health agency confessing a need to “revamp its public messaging” to coerce Americans to get vaccinated, touting it as the “best defense against a variant so contagious that it acts almost like a different novel virus.”

But of course, despite differing spike proteins, nucleotides, symptoms, and transmissibility, the almost a different novel virus must still be SARS-CoV-2 or they couldn’t maintain the charade of a ChinCOVID pandemic. It would just be the usual range of coronavirus common colds unworthy of panicmongering.

Holy Crap. I’m Trans.

And vegan.

Transvegan. Who knew?

Added: I should probably include the context of that guy’s tweet: Actor Vows to Identify as “Trans Vegan” Following Revelation Plant Eaters Could Avoid Mandatory Vaccine

Heh. And I’d bet you thought I’d gotten off of the ChinCOVID subject for once.

Added 2: Damn it. Now I have a t-shirt idea stuck in my head.

I’M

Panic! Fear! Comply!

Delta is coming!

Giroir: If You Aren’t Vaccinated, Never Had COVID ‘You Will Get Delta Variant’
“Let me tell you. If you have not been vaccinated and you have not had COVID before, you will get the Delta variant. This is so infectious that you will get it.

I “will” get it? So how much longer is it going to take? Delta has been circulating for damned near 10 months that we know of.
