Looks Like We Found A “Patriot Front” Member Who ISN’T A Fed

TZP Column: Another Gun Ban…

…in Georgia? Still?

GARDEN CITY, GEORGIA PARKS GUN BAN
It’s 2023; how is this still a thing in Georgia; cities banning lawful carry in parks?
[…]
I am strongly tempted to take a drive up to Garden City and violate their little unlawful ordinance. Should one of their fine, if under-educated-on-the-law, officers issue me a citation, I would hand him a notice of my own. I would require him to sign the notice acknowledging that he is in violation of § 16-11-127 and § 16-11-173.

Transportation Secretary Buttplug Admits Feds Knew East Palestine Was Screwed All Along

You may recall that immediately after the derailment in East Palestine, and the insane decision to burn off the vinyl chloride in open air, the feds insisted, everything’s fine, nothing to see, no probs.

Buttigieg: I Would Have Gone to East Palestine Sooner if I Knew ‘the Amount of Misinformation’
Buttigieg stated, “I do think that we missed an opportunity to communicate more clearly, with all of the misinformation that came to the people of East Palestine. And that’s one of the reasons why I broke with the norm. Normally, a Transportation Secretary does not go to an active HAZMAT site or an active crash site.

An active HAZMAT site. He wouldn’t go there because he knew it was contaminated, even as the feds initially spent weeks denying that publicly.

Tough shit for the folks stuck living there while the EPA played games. At least elitist Buttplug’s health wasn’t at risk.

Tell me again where, and who, that “misinformation was coming from.

Taking “False Flag” Op A Little Too Literally?

Overnight, someone allegedly ran into the barricades at Lafayette Park near the White House, with a U-Haul truck. We’re to believe, based on the charges that…

… a nineteen year-old Indian-American kid, specializing (and we’ll see how long that profile is live) in computer science in Chesterfield, MO, decided to pack up his Nazi flag, drive to DC and attempt to kidnap/harm the President (who isn’t there), the VP (who isn’t there), or a family member…

…by ramming the park barricades instead of the WH barricades.

Of course, we know he must be an evil Nazi because…

…the cops conveniently and carefully spread the forensic evidence out on the sidewalk for all to see, after pulling it out of the truck.

Gotta get that selfie, after all.

Pardon me if I resist the official narrative pending something a little more credible.

Hey, DeSantis: Start Sending Demand Letters To Companies That Complied With KALIFORNICATED Standards

This would be Newsom just prepping for his own potential presidential campaign. But the hypocrisy is amazing even for California.

California Gov. Newsom Demands Textbook Publishers’ Records to Determine If They Conformed to Florida Gov. DeSantis’ Education Laws
Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom is demanding records from textbook publishers to determine if they have changed any content used in California’s schools to comply with Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ education laws.
[…]
“California will not be complicit in Florida’s attempt to whitewash history through laws and backroom deals; parents have a right to know what’s happening in the dark to undermine our children’s education — and California deserves to know whether any of these companies designing textbooks for our state’s classrooms are the same ones kowtowing to Florida’s extremist agenda,” Newsom’s letter stated.

As my post title should have suggested, this is rich coming from the Incompetent-In-Chief of the state that routinely uses its clout to affect other states. Ever bought… well, anything pretty with that dumbass “This product contains such-n-such known to the state of california to be a carcinogen…”? Or a car whose emissions meet Kalifucked state standards?

That because companies want to sell in that big Kal market, but don’t want to spend megabucks setting up two separate production lines; one for the Fruit’n Nuts State, and one for the rest of the country. Kal — and Newson — understand that, and use it deliberately to impose their whacked out standards on the rest of the country.

But more interesting that Newsom bitching that someone might have done to Kal what they’ve been doing to us for years, is the fact that he has to ask.

Newsom, you don’t know what standards those textbooks you bought meet? You didn’t check to make sure they met Kal standards before shelling out big bucks?

Sounds like someone seriously failed to do his fucking job.

Or… He did check, but doesn’t want to admit that books potentially meeting Florida standards still meet Kal Standards.

You Want To Promote The National Popular Vote Compact?

That is, effectively get rid of the electoral college and elect presidents by direct popular vote? Well, this is not how to do that.

Myra Adams has come up with the least rational explanation of why America should switch to direct vote presidential elections that I have ever seen. Unless this was actually subtle trolling to illustrate why the electoral college should not be abandoned.

Every four years, Americans think they are voting in a national presidential election. But pragmatically speaking, the vast majority are sideline voters, watching a battleground-state presidential election from the fringes.

This opinion is quantified by 2020 campaign data indicating that the Trump/Pence and Biden/Harris tickets spent $883 million of television ads across just six states and held in-person campaign events in only 12 states — mostly in the same six. This revealing data is antithetical to a nation that prides itself on conducting free and fair country-wide presidential elections.

How fair is our indirect presidential voting system that practically ignores voters in 38 of 50 states? The culprit is the constitutionally mandated Electoral College — an antiquated system by which electors from each state vote for the winner of their state’s popular vote.

To end the scourge of “battleground states”???

She whines that the 2020 election saw the candidates concentrating on a mere 12 “battleground states,” and left all the others as passive bystanders.

Do a little math.

If we switched to direct, winner takes all voting then candidates could save a fortune by concentrating their efforts on the TEN — not twelve — most populous states, and ignoring the other FORTY states (not to mention territories and DC) completely; those states’ — California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan — outnumber all the other states combined.

Shoot, under the NPV Compact, those 40 unimportant states wouldn’t even need to hold elections; they could just wait and see what California and New York decide for them. That would be a money saver; and we wouldn’t have to worry about election day oddities in Maricopa County.

Since you haven’t mastered basic math, I won’t even bother with the more complex explanation of why Congress is made up of two separate houses to counter the rural/urban divide, and why the electoral college is set up the same way for the same reason.

Hat tip to David Codrea.

Short Of A Leak, We Aren’t Going To see The Unredacted “Manifesto”

Naive persons might see this as a move twoward releasing the Nashville school killer’s “manifesto” and journals. But the devil is in the details.

Nashville Covenant School shooter’s unredacted manifesto given to judge ahead of public hearing: report
A judge in Nashville has received the unredacted manifesto of Covenant School shooter Audrey Elizabeth Hale following several lawsuits demanding its release to the public, according to a local report.

Attorneys representing the city delivered the unredacted writings and a second version with proposed redactions to the Davidson County Chancellor’s chambers for review on Friday, FOX17 Nashville reported.

Iffy, but not unprecedented. But this part…

A county judge and city attorneys will hold a status conference on Thursday ahead of a June public hearing in which members of the public can express concerns over the release of the writings, the station reported.

What kind of status conference is held without the plaintiffs’ attorneys?

The kind where the city and judge are getting their ducks lined up to deny unredacted release.

My own working hypothesis is that the manifesto and journals will reveal that the bitch was egged on — encouraged, maybe helped with planning — by someone that can be tied to the FBI.

TZP Column: Memphis. What can you say?

MEMPHIS: SCREW YOUR PREEMPTION
I guess Memphis, Tennessee city council members haven’t gotten any smarter since I left town. Not even smart enough to ask someone with a little knowledge firearms and law for some help.

The council is preparing a couple of gun control referendum questions. Since Tennessee is a firearms preemption state, that seems to be asking for trouble right off. But they acknowledge that, and said, What the hell; why not?

Sometimes The Title Is All You Need

I was scrolling through freebie streaming movies, and a title caught my eye. I just knew what studio was responsible, even though I’d never heard of the flick before.

Shark Side of the Moon

The description nailed it.

Decades ago, the USSR developed unkillable sharks and launched them to the moon. Today, a team of American astronauts will endure the fight of their lives.

That’s just had to be The Asylum.

Yep. No, I’m not planning to watch it. You can, and let me know how bad it was.

Apparently there quite a market for really bad SF movies — especially their mockbusters — because The Asylum has been making money off this stuff for over 25 years. I figure they’ve monopolized the pothead market, because that’s the only way to watch some of their flicks.

TZP Column: Here4TheKids Wants To Declare Hunting Season

On gun owners they think, but more likely on themselves. Victim-disarmers are getting crazier.

BAN ALL THE GUNS?
So demands the irrational Here4TheKids.

Guns ARE the problem. Here4TheKids is a national movement with a state focus.

We demand that Colorado Governor Jared Solis sign an executive order to ban guns and buy them back.

They plan to hold a sit-in — which somehow isn’t a “protest” — in Denver on June 5, 2023. If Solis is psychotic enough to do as they wish, their “nightmare” has just begun.
